SEL CURRICULUM.

Our Mindfulness & Social Emotional Learning Curriculum empowers students to be resilient, healthy and successful humans.

  • To address the mental health crisis in high schools across America, we created a comprehensive research-based student curriculum & teacher wellness program that weaves together mindfulness, social-emotional learning competencies, and healthy lifestyle practices to empower a new generation and create lasting change in the world.

Our Goals

Integrate SEL competencies within healthy lifestyle practices

  • Increase

Increase scholastic performance and post-secondary success

THE MODULES.

Mindfulness is the bedrock of this curriculum and every module integrates mindfulness in the context of what students are learning. The curriculum has six modules which build upon each other for progressive learning.

  • • Students will develop active listening & communication skills that expand into social awareness. They will explore empathy, healthy boundaries, conflict management, in addition to other relationship building skills.

  • • Students will build a personal mindfulness tool-kit that will be utilized throughout the duration of the curriculum and support the enhancement of self-awareness & self-management skills.

  • • Students will deepen their self-awareness and self-management skills as they progressively learn the principles of meditation.

  • • Students will learn essential habits for managing stress and making responsible decisions as it pertains to health. Students will develop an understanding of stress and key elements of self-care that include sleep hygiene, time outdoors, physical activity, and more.

  • • Students will develop a comprehension in nutrition and its relationship to holistic health. This education will empower students to make informed, healthy decisions relative to their bodies through a conscious, nurturing approach to food.

  • • Students will learn the relationship between exercise and mental health, in addition to developing a conscious relationship with the body through mindfulness and movement. Additionally, students will receive the education and resources to enact an exercise practice of their own.

  • We understand that real change does not happen in isolation — it involves the entire community and demands cultural transformation.

TEACHER DEVELOPMENT.

We offer ongoing support throughout the school year to empower teachers with professional confidence and personal wellness.

  • Curriculum training for teachers are spaced throughout the course of the school year and provide a foundation in each of the education modules as well as prepare teachers for supporting class discussions and activities. Training modules include an introduction to the curriculum, followed by relationships, mindfulness, mediation, stress management, nutrition and movement.

  • Teachers are invited to optional weekly Zoom sessions to practice mindfulness, share classroom wins, and receive support. In addition, they can participate in curriculum preparation for next week's classes. Our intention is to ensure each teacher feels supported and confident working with the educational materials.

  • Every week, teachers and their students will have the opportunity to drop into Mindful Meditation classes hosted via Zoom. Each class is 15-20 minutes.

  • Each month, teachers are offered a 1-hour Adult SEL & Wellness Workshop that includes content paced to match the progression of the student curriculum. These workshops are designed for teachers to receive personal support, connect with other teachers, and practice the core principles of the curriculum in their own lives.
